Commenting on blogs to increase backlinks to your blog is nothing new. People have left comments on blogs for this very reason for, well, just about as long as blogging has been around. Unfortunately, due to bad blogging advice, automated blog commenting software, and leaving the wrong comments on the wrong blogs – leaving comments on blogs to increase backlinks is quickly becoming a dead practice.

Oh, I’ve had a bunch of blogs cover my business, but I got no sales. Bloggers are just looking for free stuff anyway. Plus I can’t afford to send them samples or waste my time writing guest posts. Enough with these little guys, I’m ready for the big leagues.

The person who owns the other blog, unless they don’t know what they are doing either, is not going to approve your comment. And even if they do, what is the quality of that link? What is the value of the traffic it sends to your blog, if any?

Blogs have become so popular because they are so very user-friendly for advertising. They are practical, easy to set up and very convenient to use. Keeping content up to date is very easy for webmasters who otherwise would have to spend hours uploading and downloading files. Be warned, however, that setting up a ‘Free’ Blog, will mean you will have a lot of other people’s ads on it (There’s no such thing as a ‘free lunch’). It’s always worth paying because, yes, you get what you pay for.

Since 2003, Stream gaming have been increasing in popularity. People have blogged about current events, war, politics, television shows, television stars, terrorism, and almost any other topic you can imagine. Blogs are used to inform people about services and products by allowing people to post reviews of specific services and products. They are used to stay up-to-date on events that occur within families, clubs, organizations, and businesses. Blogs are used to swap recipes, to learn, and to vent. If you can think it, it is probably on a blog someplace.

Let me share to you some of my ideas in making blogs useful in list building business. This might help know how to create powerful blogs that would translate to expand your list.

Blogs are easier to create and maintain. Also, updating and adding content is much easier to do and the owner can learn how to do it fairly easily. Blogs rank higher with the search engines as well because the content is added to and updated far more often than with websites.

I still hate blogging. But life is not full of doing only those things we like. Use your blog if you are serious about promoting your business. And use your blog if you want to promote yourself. Don’t expect a million hits a minute but don’t be surprised if your blog turns out to be a positive addition to your web presence. I certainly was and continue to be amazed at the results.
