There are times when we all feel that we are lost and it seems as though there is nothing that can save us from continuing to fall. Those of us that are caged by drug addiction seem to be hit the hardest. Once we understand it is not a simple lack of will power, but a chemical dependence induced by the drug we are taking, we can start to accept our problem and seek out appropriate help. Many of us argue that drug rehabilitation is not the answer since the facilities that provide this service do not know anything about us. This is not the correct way of thinking since they know that the drug is probably the culprit that keeps you hooked, and less about the person that you are.

Some people need to be told they need help, but simply telling someone they need drug rehabilitation is not really intervening; it is just irritating. In order to get real help for your friend is to take him or her to the clinic and explain you are doing this because you care about them. Few people will take the extra steps for their friends, but it would be great if they would visit often. Even if your friend is living in a drug rehabilitation clinic visit them and see how they are doing. That often means more to them than anything else in this world. It is worth much more than the actual treatment they receive. This is not to say the treatment does not work, because it does.

They realize that their family starts to turn away from them. It’s interesting to notice, but they really start avoiding you. If you’re not in a facility offering outpatient San Diego rehab for couples services, you’ll see that they plan and schedule things so that they don’t have to face you directly, and they’re not doing it because it’s more convenient for them, they’re simply scared, so…

Alcohol abuse and addiction affects millions of people in our society today. Many individuals know their condition, others don’t. People who understand their situation and admit they have drinking problems can repair their broken lives earlier. But those people who are not aware of their true situation will continuously damage their lives by continuously abusing alcohol. And that situation makes them suffer more. In the end, the only thing that has left in front of them is the choice between entering into a rehab center and lying in a cheap casket.

Getting the person’s life back under control is the goal of most drug and alcohol couples rehab programs. While most would agree that being in control of one’s life is vital to succeed, many addicts don’t want to admit they’ve lost control.

Who will I be spending all of my time with? What are their credentials? Are they a former addict? How many years of addiction specific therapy due they have under their belt? Are they a counselor or a therapist? You prefer them to be therapists. Ultimately, you want your therapist to be about sixty years old or so. This is because you would like them to have been an addict themselves. But you also want them to have gotten clean and achieved their master’s degree. Then you want them to have several years under their belt, hence the age. Obviously there are some wonderful and talented therapists that are quite a bit younger. More important than age is the therapist’s ability to “crack your shell”, as well as you having a connection with them.

We hope this not only changes the view of those that are using this information to make an educated decision as to which center might be best for their loved ones, but that of the centers themselves. Truth is the answer. The truth is that the success rate for centers is very low. This is not because the centers are not doing their jobs. It is because people are constantly choosing the wrong rehab center for their particular needs.
