One year ago, my father asked me, the young internet entrepreneur, “What’s a blog?” I paused for minute. I had heard the term before … but I couldn’t answer him. I honestly didn’t know. Little did I know that so many people would soon tap into a new type of gold mine and make money with blogs.
After you have made a few posts you can be seen online blogs quickly. Depending on the subject matter of your blog you may even be noticed by larger businesses. After that, they may want you as a writer, or want to advertise on your blog!
Online business needs a lot of support and one must be able to nurture it in all ways possible. This can be in the form of either money or time for it to survive. No one should lie to you that they struck gold or oil in the online business. You will be good if only you delivers quality article to your blog. This will then attract traffic that comes in the form of customers. If you are able to keep these customers entertained and they keep coming back for more, you may have found your gold mine in the online business.
Websites are generally more static than blogs. What this means is that their content doesn’t get changed very frequently. Content is static with few changes made over time. Whereas with blogs, which are noted for being active, have their content changing frequently. It is for this reason that they are so popular with search engines like Google.
But I always assumed that most bloggers would be like me and have some sort of comment approval policy in place. But then I forget, there are a lot of people running blogs for personal stuff and they simply don’t understand the whole spamming thing. So blog spammers take advantage of the ignorance of these bloggers and blast them with junk comments. And if their blogging software doesn’t use the nofollow tag in links then they just got themselves a link that some search engines (coughMSNcoughYahoo!cough) would record as valuable.
Now that you have your list of Check out my profile you are ready to start contacting blog owners and asking them if they’re interested in having guest posters. In your e-mail explain that you have some great articles that would work great with their blog. Ask them to e-mail you back for more details. Not everyone will respond but those who do will be interested. I like to e-mail about three blog owners a day so I don’t get overwhelmed with responses. Make it a habit of doing this and you should be writing guest posts in no time. Just remember when you’re writing your post that you are offering really good content. The better the content the better the response you will get from the readers.
Buying backlinks is NOT the way to go about increasing backlinks to your blog. Why spend money for someone else to run canned comments through some automated software program, spewing them out like a shotgun all over God only knows where?
